Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Contact Christine at (203) 257-4278 or at ChristineBryantSLP@gmail.com. You can also use the "Contact" page to send a message. An evaluation or treatment session, based on the client's needs, will then be scheduled in the home or in the community.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE EVALUATION?
If therapy is suggested, frequency and duration of the speech sessions will be recommended based on the results of the evaluation. Speech therapy can occur in a variety of settings, and the location of therapy will be determined by the client and/or family.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SPEECH THERAPY SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Therapy is meant to be fun! Speech and language goals are targeted through games and activities that are motivating for the client. The last few minutes of every therapy session are spent discussing progress and providing the caregivers with strategies to implement in between visits. Family involvement is crucial in developing language skills!
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Many insurance companies do not cover speech therapy or only cover a small part of the therapy fee once a deductible has been met. Clients are advised to contact their insurance company prior to beginning the evaluation process to see if therapy will be covered under their benefits. While insurance companies are not billed by the therapist, receipts with procedure/treatment codes will be provided after sessions, upon request, so that clients can submit for potential reimbursement through their insurance company. Some clients may also choose to use flex-spending accounts for financial assistance. Payments can be made in cash or by check.
